About this Unit

In this unit you will get an introduction to dental material sciences and analyse the different characteristics of dental materials. You will apply an evidence-based approach to select the most appropriate material for specific treatments. Prosthodontics will provide you with different treatment options to repair damaged or missing teeth and how the visual appearance of teeth can be improved. You will gain broad knowledge of prosthodontic and restorative treatments and learn which techniques are within the scope of practice from an oral health therapist. You will be familiarised with fixed and removable prosthodontic solutions, orthodontics and the importance of maintenance strategies (including dental implants).
