About this Unit

In this unit topics are presented to provide you with the tools to assess the risk for oral disease in a variety of patients. You will compare different risk assessment tools and determine the consequences of factors that affect oral health. You will gain a theoretical foundation to enable you to interpret different oral health processes. You will identify which assessments are needed to make evidence based clinical decisions. You will learn when to perform additional investigations, and why these additional investigations are necessary. You will study the different orthodontic assessments, advanced diagnosis of specific diseases of the soft and hard tissues and identify how to manage and diagnose different types of dental trauma.
