About this Unit

Critical appraisal of mainstream diagnostic classification of major mental illness and psychopathology from a transdisciplinary perspective. Sociocultural and temporal context of mental wellness and illness. Psychosocial partnership in care in the formulation of assessment, treatment and management of mental health and illness behaviours. Strength-based psychosocial interventions to empower wellbeing in people living with complex and critically unstable mental health problems and the application to person-centred practice in nursing and paramedicine. Accountability and social justice issues within mental health contexts.
