Global and national context of ageing and associated implications for health; changes associated with ageing; perspectives of ageing, including ageism and stigma; cultural diversity in ageing; communication and health challenges for the older person; interprofessional care; holistic nursing assessment and best practice interventions relevant to well being (physical, mental and psychosocial); also including reference to cognitive status; care continuum, including community, institutional and transition car; philosophy of nursing care, including palliative, person and family centred approaches; ethical and legal concerns related to the older person.
