About this Unit

This unit will focus on socio-cultural perspectives of death and dying in Australia; social-cultural, psychological and spiritual dimensions of palliative care across diverse people; principles of a palliative approach to care; ethical issues surrounding end-of-life-care; coping with dying and bereavement; the inter-professional team approach to health assessment and support; clinical assessment and application of evidence-informed pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for common end of life symptoms;and personal responses to end of life conditions.
