About this Unit

This unit develops the student’s understanding of the fundamental concepts of financial mathematics, and how these concepts are applied in calculating present and accumulated values for a stream of cashflows. Practical, hands-on modelling experience is developed through the use of EXCEL spreadsheets (students are assumed to have functional EXCEL skills prior to commencement of this unit).
