About this Unit

This unit provides a comprehensive overview of the basic principles and practice of geology. You will learn the language of geology and the geological processes that form minerals, rocks, geological structures and mineral deposits. In the laboratory, you will develop practical skills in the description and identification of common rocks and minerals, including ore minerals, and in the interpretation of geological data.
