I took it as a bridging unit since I didn't do Chemistry ATAR. Personally it was pretty average workload - really manageable compared to other engineering units.
I took the online version - which doesn't have workshops in person - I just did the weekly workshops at my own pace at home. Just watched all the lectures online and completed my labs in the last 2 weeks of semester. Probably my lightest unit that semester.
Exams are online but invigilated. The first quiz was online as well.
