About this Unit

This unit provides students with an opportunity to develop their knowledge of the chemistry contributing to concepts of sustainability with a particular emphasis on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Through a systems thinking approach, students will consider the relationships of relevant chemistry systems with other systems such as the environment, agriculture and food production, clean water and sanitation, and human health. Through project-based learning, students will investigate the role of chemistry in critical global challenges in sustainable development.
