About this Unit

Chemistry has an important role to play in increasing the sustainability of many industries In this unit, some of the chemical industries in WA will be presented and their actions towards sustainability will be discussed. The principles of sustainability will be used to assess industrial practices. In addition, this unit will study future technologies and materials for increased efficiency of resources development,sustainable energy technologies and transition to a circular economy focussed on harnessing waste as a resource. Students will apply their knowledge to propose solutions for challenges of sustainability in chemical industries.
