About this Unit

In this unit, students learn about the structure of proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids, and how this affects their digestion absorption, and function within the body. The metabolic pathways involved in the cellular metabolism of carbohydrates for energy is also studied. In the laboratory component, students gain experience in using a range of analytical techniques and laboratory equipment central to biochemistry.
