About this Unit

In this unit students will develop an understanding of theories of counselling, and apply this knowledge to a diverse range of clients and contexts. Students will also develop an understanding of coaching models and how these apply within a speech pathology contexts, including working with parents, allied health assistants or carers. Students will continue to develop their understanding of working with a team context, and apply learning of collaborative practice (team work) to the role of speech pathologists in a diverse range of workplace contexts, considering the Speech Pathology Australia Code of Ethics and medico-legal responsibilities.
