About this Unit

This unit expands understanding of the main pathophysiological processes that underpin common diseases and conditions managed by physiotherapists across all healthcare settings. A range of specific common acute / traumatic, non-traumatic and progressive conditions are explored, with students encouraged to examine similarities and differences between conditions in terms of underlying pathology, clinical presentation and the individual’s experience. Impact of specific physical and psychological conditions on an individual is explored using a biopsychosocial framework.
