About this Unit

Students investigate the nurse's role within the health care team through the application of relevant professional standards governing the practice of registered nurses. Students engage in problem-solving, communication skills and decision making with reference to the nursing process; assessment; planning; implementation; evaluation; discharge planning and documentation; relevant to scope of practice. Planning of care is based on best practice nursing evidence with a focus on person centred and integrated health care.
