About this Unit

This unit focuses on the anatomy, applied physiology, assessment and support of well women and babies across the continuum of midwifery care. Students explore health promotion and education strategies for women with reference to preconception health, pregnancy, labour and birth, the puerperium and early neonatal care, breastfeeding and bio-psychosocial factors pertinent to midwifery practice.
