About this Unit

This introductory midwifery unit will develop students’ academic writing and knowledge of the role and scope of practice of the midwife, models of maternity care, professional bodies and cultural perspectives. The unit will explore the historical, political, legal, ethical, quality and safety aspects of midwifery from local, national and international perspectives.
