About this Unit

Students will explore strategies for navigating the diversity of structures and organisational cultures in Human Service Organisations. Students will focus on the purpose, policy and legislative contexts within Human Service Organisations. Students will also explore the social work role within these organisations including key social work values and ethics, particularly social justice. Socio-political analysis of how policy directives and other drivers shape Human Service Organisations will be considered as well as the role and impact of service users as key stakeholders. Students will engage with their emerging social work identity and the impact of working in a Human Service Organisation.
