About this Unit

This unit explores contemporary health and social issues such as substance use, mental distress, aged care and disability. Critical theories are used to examine how these issues impact on individuals, families and communities. Reforms which influence and frame contemporary social work practice will be analysed. These include health system arrangements, self-directed support in disability and aged care and service integration across various sectors such as health and mental health, housing, employment and education.
