About this Unit

The main focus of this unit is the planning and implementation of occupational therapy assessment and intervention for adults with neurological conditions such as acquired brain injury or neurodegenerative conditions. Students integrate knowledge relating to the pathophysiology of these neurological conditions, an occupational therapy model of choice and evidence-based theories/practices to plan and implement occupational therapy assessment and intervention in different practice contexts. The occupational therapy assessment results will guide the development and implementation of occupational therapy intervention and will follow a remedial and/or compensatory approach to address the impact of the neurological condition on the person's occupational performance and participation.
