About this Unit

The Design for Manufacturing unit focusses on the design of products to improve the ease of manufacture and the efficiency of assembly. This is achieved by adopting Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) strategies and incorporating manufacturing methods and operation management such as Concurrent Engineering (CE), Flexible Manufacturing (FM), Just in Time (JIT), Lean Manufacturing (LM) and Automated Systems (AS) into the production facilities.
