About this Unit

Fluid Dynamics plays a significant role in the fundamental understanding, and in the design and analysis of various external and internal flow systems. This unit will build on the foundations of fluid dynamics that students have learned in the previous year, and apply those concepts to various applications in the discipline of mechanical engineering. The unit will provide basic mathematical aspects of modelling fluid flows and provide the knowledge required to analyse fluid flow behaviour in external and internal flow geometries. An introduction to computational fluid dynamics, and its current practise in research and industrial scenarios is also covered.
