About this Unit

This unit applies understanding of evidence-informed theory and processes of typical child development across all developmental domains to inform the assessment, clinical reasoning and effective holistic management of common neurological, musculoskeletal and cardiopulmonary childhood conditions using an ICF model. There will be a focus on individualised communication and facilitation of function and participation, recognising the unique presentation, abilities and situation of each child and family. There is a focus on culturally-safe, family-centred practice and interprofessional teamwork as core philosophies in paediatric care, innovative technology to enhance management are explored.
