About this Unit

This unit continues to develop students’ skills in neurological physiotherapy applying an evidence-informed approach to more complex presentations including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury. Students will apply principles learned in Introductory Neuroscience to a variety of conditions across a range of acuities, using clinical reasoning, problem-solving and person-centred approaches. Effective verbal and digital communication skills will continue to be developed in an interprofessional neurological context, including person-centred goal-setting and discharge planning. Student will also explore innovative technologies and consider the management of long-term chronic neurological conditions with the goal of optimising ability and quality of life.
