About this Unit

In this unit students learn how to use Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and the VHDL hardware description language to implement embedded systems. FPGAs and VHDL are used in industry to develop high-performance digital systems. Students work in teams to develop a project involving the control of sensors and actuators. The laboratory component of this unit is intense and students have opportunities to further develop their professional identity.
