About this Unit

This unit teaches the topics defining data communications standards including Physical layer and Data link layer standards, encoding, error detection, and protocols for both wired and wireless communications. Using practical approach, the unit also covers the network design principles of TCP/IP including routing protocols, routing algorithms, flow and congestion control algorithms, application layer protocols and network management with an introduction to Software Defined Networking for modern data networks.
