About this Unit

This unit discusses the applications of electrochemical energy storage and conversion. The students will be introduced to the practical aspects of electrochemistry, during which their previous knowledge of thermodynamics, kinetics and mass transport will be applied to electrochemical systems. Based on these electrochemical principles, an overview of electrochemical energy storage and conversion systems will be provided, including batteries, supercapacitors, electrolysers, and fuel cells.
