About this Unit

This unit examines the role of exercise in the management of chronic health conditions and the prevention and acute management of sports injuries. The pathophysiology of common chronic health conditions will be explored together with the role that exercise (and exercise scientists) play in managing these conditions. Common sports injuries will be explored in the context of the injury cycle with a particular focus on the role of the exercise scientist in injury prevention, acute management and referral procedures, and return to sport.
