About this Unit

This unit introduces terminology, construction and geometries of industrial manipulators. Students learn forward and inverse kinematics and application of transformation methods and homogeneous matrices. Mathematical principles of robot velocity analysis are also introduced. The lab component of this unit introduces robot simulation software structure, robot middleware and use of analytical systems in simulated and real environments.
