About this Unit

This unit consolidates prior learning within the course as students transition to the role of midwife. It strengthens the conceptual and theoretical knowledge required to provide high quality, comprehensive and safe care underpinned by evidence-based practice. Self care is explored and future aims are based on sustainability and development goals. The unit prepares students for professional registration and students investigate clinical governance, factors influencing patient safety including communication, partnering with consumers, clinical risk management and the quality improvement process.
