About this Unit

This innovative unit examines narratives of occupation, of use, and of making, as embedded in designed products that constitute the interior. Through a series of explorations and testings, students use technology to create a prototype object that has purpose and feasibility for the design industry. Emphasis is placed upon future-thinking and finding simple ways to communicate narratives of construction, use, and occupation. Practices of environmental sustainability are also considered in students’ final products.
