About this Unit

This unit is the first in a sequence of four professional teaching practice focused units. The unit will support your understanding and application of key education theories, concepts and skills to develop your professional teaching practice. The first module will introduce evidence-based learning design for secondary teachers to meet the needs of diverse learners. The second module will introduce the theory and application of positive classroom management and the third module will address professional conduct behaviours and effective communication strategies for teachers. This unit is designed to provide a theoretical and practical foundation of essential skills you will need to demonstrate on a school-based professional experience placement. All required clearances to work with children must be obtained and valid, and all other preparation requirements met.
