About this Unit

In this unit we cover different aspects of fluid and particle processing. We start with single phase compressible and incompressible flow in nozzles and pipes. Then we continue the unit with two phase flow of gas and liquid in horizontal and vertical pipes. Particle properties in terms of shape and size are discussed followed by study of particle in liquid: single particle, multiple particles, and wall effect. Then we discuss about flow in porous flow, which is followed by filtration and sedimentation theory: batch and continuous. We will discuss about fluidisation in the following chapter, and solid separation using cyclone and centrifuge in the next chapter. The last chapter is dedicated to discussing about slurry transport and pneumatic transport.
