About this Unit

This unit is an introduction to sexology; the scholarly study of human sexuality. Students are encouraged to reflect upon and reassess their own beliefs, attitudes and values through the investigation and examination of a diverse range of key sexological concepts and topics. All reflections will be structured through a biopsychosocial approach. Broader societal and cultural issues are discussed. There is an emphasis on sex positivity, optimising sexual health, human rights, equality, and equitable service provision.
