About this Unit

In this unit, students will apply theory and principles of cadastral surveying to determine the location of land boundaries. They will develop their skills in field surveying through experiencing cadastral surveying for boundary redefinition and subdivision. They will identify and evaluate historical survey records and conduct office calculations. Students will assess land boundary evidence from field surveys, carrying out calculations so that land boundaries can be re-established in their original position. The cadastral surveying process is covered from start to finish and experienced through a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) industry work placement.
