About this Unit

This unit introduces students to a relatively new paradigm of current and emerging risks and threats to national security, ranging from organised crime, globalised terrorism and insurgency, to political warfare and how it destabilises international political and security environments. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the current and future spectrum of conflict, unconventional ways of using force as part of multi-domain warfighting (hybrid warfare), and its application across the so-called “grey zones”; the factor of deception in contemporary strategic, foreign and defence policies conduct, and its role in current and future operations.
