About this Unit

This unit focuses on contemporary business procurement and demonstrates an ethical approach to purchasing and supply chain sourcing practices. The unit includes rethinking supply management strategies to include green purchasing, inclusive procurement and social responsibility. The unit will assess ways in which organisations’ recycle, remanufacture, recondition and reuse materials. Ethical and internationally recognised environmental standards, and fair trade certifications for social and ethical performance are appraised for sustainable procurement in supply chains. This unit will examine ways in which supply chains take advantage of opportunities to innovate in the interest of fostering change and improvement through procurement.
