About this Unit

This unit extends undergraduate engagement in mathematics by examining a range of contemporary mathematical ideas and applications such as blockchain, fractal geometry, data mining and recent developments in proof; along with other current and emerging fields of mathematical research. In this examination, mathematics is situated within a broad economic and socio-cultural context which considers authentic vocational applications, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mathematics, integration within STEM, and the challenges facing the globally-connected financial world. A blended learning approach will be taken to delivery.
