About this Unit

This unit examines the evolution of the podcast in the media environment, and the theory and practice of the medium in an ever-evolving media landscape. Students will examine the data surrounding podcasting’s growth, as well as its future. Students will examine and evaluate the many forms of podcast, from chat format to long-form investigative journalism pieces. They will hear from and speak to leading podcast content makers. They will learn about available technology for recording, editing, and distributing, examine business models, and seek to produce their own audio packages.
