About this Unit

This unit assists students in making the transition to professional practice as an information systems professional. Students will demonstrate the application of information systems methods, tools, and techniques to a relevant industry-based project of significant scope. Students will work collaboratively to understand and document stakeholder requirements, implement and test a technical solution to address a real-world business problem, and manage project risks and ethical considerations. Depending on the project brief, students may demonstrate skills in systems analysis, programming, database design and management, accessibility, and addressing human factors. The project will also involve verifying and validating the solution through acceptance testing, as well as developing strategies for ongoing support and change management. Professional conduct, including teamwork, communication, technical competence, and project management skills, is assessed throughout the project.
