About this Unit

This unit explores the challenges of high-performance computing and big data from a software engineering perspective. Students learn how to develop, analyse and optimise software performance at a large scale, the architectural issues entailed in software that utilises very large datasets, and the ethical and compliance issues that arise when these datasets are derived from individuals’ personal details or other sensitive sources.
