About this Unit

This unit introduces students to a wide range of foundational international relations theories. Students will learn to apply these models to critically interpret, explain, and analyse in a global context. It provides the foundation for understanding how to evaluate and modify international policy design, enabling students to understand the policy choices available for decision-makers, and formulate alternative options in the public and private spheres. Topics include realism, liberalism, constructivism, critical theory, ontological security, Marxism, gender and feminism, environmentalism, and international ethics.
