About this Unit

This unit introduces the concept of Adaptive Reuse and Heritage, the initiation of sustainable design responses to the adaptive re-use contemporary reuse of historic buildings with minimal impact on the heritage significance. Students will undertake research methods to synthesise knowledge and technical skills in ways that embrace history, and includes indigenous perspectives, in a contemporary context. Concepts such as culture, values, memory and identity are explored.
