About this Unit

Health promotion seeks fairer and more equitable societies. In this unit equity and social justice will be considered with particular reference to processes, institutions and determinants which influence health and living conditions through the distribution of power, money and resources. Power will be examined as it relates to structure and agency. Contemporary and emerging health promotion issues relevant to policy and practice will be considered across a variety of issues, settings and populations. Case studies of social change that positively impact health will be explored.
