About this Unit

This unit teaches students how to build high quality 3D props and environments for use in film, video games and other digital media. Students will continue to build on the skills acquired in Introduction to 3D Modelling, learning industry standard tools, advanced techniques and efficient workflows which will enable them to achieve high quality outcomes for their portfolio and future projects. They will collect and analyse reference and utilise design principles to develop their own environment. Students will block out and iterate on their environment design before starting final production. They will explore modular and procedural approaches to advanced modelling, lighting, texturing and material development in creating a complete and engaging digital environment.
