About this Unit

Seismic methods are cornerstone of modern energy exploration and are routinely deployed for, environmental, geothermal, groundwater, minerals, and engineering applications. Seismic methods are also fundamental in research as they can reveal the interior of our Earth's and neighbouring celestial bodies. This unit provides the theoretical and practical basis of surface and borehole seismic methods including essential aspects of acquisition and processing of seismic data. The workshops of this unit cover a diverse range of practical seismic acquisition and processing challenges through computer-based exercises using leading software and field demonstrations with modern and novel equipment
