About this Unit

The aim of this unit is to equip students with necessary tools and techniques to assess the financial health of a company. Students will further develop their ability to interpret both financial and other information to evaluate business performance and value companies. The financial analysis skills acquired in the unit will be instrumental in making successful decisions in numerous business contexts, including: the evaluation of financial performance, the identification of sources of value creation, risk and credit assessment, and in assessing the achievement of financial targets and strategic goals. Topics discussed: Introduction to the financial statement analysis, understanding financial statements and supplementary information, financial analysis techniques and applications, evaluating financial reporting quality, analysis of financial statement for forecasting, valuation and risk analysis purposes.
