About this Unit

This unit provides students with a functional understanding of environmental management system frameworks and principles, focusing on industry applications and certification processes for sustainable environmental performance. It will introduce techniques for identifying environmental aspects and impacts, along with methods for applying sustainable corrective actions to promote continuous improvement to environmental performance. Students will explore key environmental topics including air pollution and water quality, waste management, contaminated sites and their remediation, and odour management. Other more contemporary themes will focus on industry adaptions to climate change to promote industry resilience, and environmental impacts of industry on Indigenous Australian communities and culture.
