About this Unit

This unit is designed to prepare pre-service teachers to teach evolution in Senior Secondary Biology and Human Biology. It is an in-depth exploration into the theory of the evolution of life beginning with the history of evolution, evolutionary processes and changes over time starting at the genome level up to ecological communities, and finally it will conclude with the evolutionary story of humans. Conceptual and theoretical knowledge of evolutionary changes in species will build the necessary skills within the context of Senior Science curriculum planning, teaching strategies and assessment.
