About this Unit

An examination of the core areas of modern microeconomic theory. The unit is examined at a higher level of analytical rigour than ECON3000 Microeconomic Theory. This unit covers the following essential concepts: Consumer theory, preferences, utility functions, indirect utility and expenditure functions, properties of consumer demand, consumer's surplus, duality in consumer theory, uncertainty, technology and production, cost functions, duality in production, theory of the firm and market structures, and game theory.
