About this Unit

This unit explores the signs, symbols and rituals of key sacred liturgies within the Catholic tradition and their scriptural and historical origins. Participants are to understand the significance of the sacraments and liturgies to Christian life, especially the celebration of the Mass and how this is applied through the Perth Archdiocesan Religious Education Units of Work to the life experience of students within Catholic school settings. The unit provides opportunities for participants to reflect critically on the personal and professional readiness of staff to be supportive of or teach sacraments and liturgies in Catholic schools.
